As businesses and communities look for ways to compete and flourish in a global economy, the Internet has the potential to be transformative – if used effectively.  Unfortunately, many small and medium sized businesses don’t fully understand what they should be doing online to grow.

As a business, have you wondered if you should be doing more online? Have you explored all the possibilities for using the Internet to be more competitive and productive?

Supporting the growth of businesses in the Southern Tier Region is the driving goal for Southern Tier Economic Growth, the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development (SCOPED), the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency, Hornell Industrial Development Agency, and Three Rivers Development Corporation. Toward that goal, our organizations have partnered with the Southern Tier Network to provide a program that will assist local businesses achieve real results from effective use of the Internet.

What more could you … and should you … be doing online for your business?

The first step is to take our online business assessment. Completing this assessment typically takes about 20 minutes. The focus of this assessment is on how you are using the Internet and online applications and the benefits for your business.

On completion of this assessment you will receive a complimentary Scorecard report outlining how your business compares with your industry peers and identifying opportunities for improving your bottom line through enhanced uses of the internet. Our program partner Strategic Networks Group (SNG) will provide you with your own personalized Scorecard report at no cost to you. View some sample Scorecards.

Taking the Business Assessment also enrolls you in a program called the Small Business Growth Program that will provide you with one-on-one help if you want it as well as several online tools to help with next steps. Again, this program is being offered to Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben County businesses at no cost to you and is designed solely to assist you in exploring ways that you can further benefit from online business activities. You will not be contacted by any third parties for any solicitation purposes.

The assessment, Scorecards, and program are being made available to businesses in the Southern Tier Region as a cooperative effort by Southern Tier Economic Growth, SCOPED, Steuben County IDA, Hornell IDA, Three Rivers Development Corporation and Southern Tier Network.
